Scotts 415-16S 16-Inch Elite Push Reel Lawn Mower Best Price
Scotts 415-16S 16-Inch Elite Push Reel Lawn Mower Best Price Good
little mower Bought
this mower knowing the yard in the house I rent is more like a weed
patch than an actual yard: the ground is rough, and instead of grass I
have patches of weeds here and there. That being said, the mower wasn't
recommended for my type of yard, but I bought it anyway cause I hate
recurring charges (gasoline, oil, etc.)
This little mower has performed surprisingly well despite all I have
thrown at it: little sticks are the achilles heel of the little
device, but that's already been said. It has done well, but it does not
like tall weeds like dandelion, though if you hit them right it will
cut. The main issue is that if it is too tall the mower doesn't catch it
just so, and as a result you will get tall stragglers in a less than
perfect yard like mine.
That being said, if you want a picture-perfect yard, you may want to
think twice before purchase. But if you are more concerned with
recurring expenses and damages to the environment; this is the way to
go. Personally, I am happy with the purchase and have no intention of
getting another mower. Read More

Great States 815-18 18-Inch Deluxe Push Reel Lawn Mower With Loop-Style Handle And Heat Treated Blades
Purchase Great States 815-18 18-Inch Deluxe Push Reel Lawn Mower
With Loop-Style Handle And Heat Treated Blades An
Excellent Step Backwards! This is
my first reel mower and I must say I've been converted.
The grass flew off the rear of the mower as if it were a cartoon-
literally a waterfall of grass shooting into the air. You can go back
over a section easily enough to hit any blades you might have missed (I
missed only because I couldn't see the 'walk lines' since the mower is
so light).
I'm able to navigate around tightly planted edging with no trouble,
but you will need a weed whacker to finish up since these don't cut the
width of the tire + 1 inch.
My front lawn took about 5 more minutes to cut than with the gas
powered 'push' mower- and that was mostly due to me learning how to cut
with this beautiful piece of equipment.
My back lawn is a nightmare of twigs, leaves, holes and hills. A
twig can and will stop the blades if it's too large but that only
happened once.
The only gripe I have with the great states 18" reel mower is that
the handles aren't long enough- I'm 6'2" tall and my arms had to hold
them at an awkward angle. I'll see if that improves and update as time
goes on. Until then, this is a great investment.
While not as wide as the Scotts 20" mower this is significantly
cheaper on the per - inch basis. Read More

Lowest Price WORX WG712 13-Amp 16-Inch Electric Lawn Mower Small
....but Powerful This is
a great little mower. I admit, I was a little skeptical to purchase on
line especially since I had never seen one in the stores, however, this
is a GREAT little mower. It is easy to assemble, easy to push and
maneuver, and it gives a good clean cut. My grass in some spots was a
good 7" high and this mower went through it like it had a job to do! I
have to admit, I will have to get use to the cord, but for the
convenience and just to know that it is ready whenever I need to
mow....I Love It!
Before this I had a Black & Decker, cordless electric. I have
to say more often than not it lost it's power before I was even finished
mowing the back yard and had to wait to charge it before I could do the
front. The Black & Decker was left on the curb....and my new Worx
in now in the shed taking up half the space! Read More

Low Price Lawn Boy 10645 20-Inch 6.75 GT Briggs & Stratton Gas Powered Lawn Mower
Low Price Lawn Boy 10645 20-Inch 6.75 GT Briggs & Stratton
Gas Powered Lawn Mower (CARB Compliant) Good
mower but side chute not included Pros:
This is a good mower. It doesn't use a primer and started right up on
the first pull. It is CARB compliant. The wheels have a bulbous shape
which makes it easier to maneuver than other models. It has a wide range
of height settings; our yard has a lot of tall roots and at the highest
setting I had no fear of clipping them. The handle doesn't have any
outward-facing protrusions, making it easier to mow next to a chain link
fence.
Cons: The plastic handles used to adjust the height seem a little
flimsy, and in fact one of them looks like it is going to split in half
before long. Assembly was fairly easy, although the knobs to attach the
handle took some elbow grease to get on all the way. Also, one of the
front wheels arrived 180 degrees out of alignment with the height
settings and had to be rotated back into position.
One disappointing thing about this mower is it did not come with a
side discharge chute; instead, a little postcard saying that I would
have to wait 4-5 weeks for delivery. According to the post card, most
customers prefer to bag or mulch, and thus the side discharge chute is
not included for environmental reasons. Well I have backyard grass that
is taller than the mower, so bagging and mulching are out of the
question, and I'm irked at having to wait 4-5 weeks before I can use my
new mower in the backyard. In my opinion it is false advertising to call
this a 3-in-1 mower when in reality it is a 2-in-1 mower on delivery
that won't perform as advertised for 4-5 weeks.
Another complaint is the instruction manual says do not overfill
when adding oil, so cautions the user to check the dipstick while
filling. However, the oil bottle is 20 oz., which is the also the
maximum fill for the mower, so it would be a whole lot less
time-consuming if the manual simply said to the use the whole bottle
instead of having to re-check the dipstick after pouring a little bit at
a time.
Another issue is the registration form on the Lawn Boy website is
poorly designed and not standards compliant. The drop down list for the
"state" field did not populate, and after I hit "submit", it just said
"please wait" indefinitely.
There are actually two serial numbers on the mower -- a nine digit
number starting with 29 that identifies the mower, and a 13 digit number
that identifies the engine. It would be nice if the instruction manual
would indicate to use the nine digit number when registering. Read

Grass Catcher Good
Mower for Small Yards We have
a lake house with a small 25x40 grassy area. I wanted a mower that was
small and light and the Mow Joe fits the bill. The bag is small for
picking up leafs but for just triming the grass it's OK. The 12inch
cutting width is small and increases the time to cut the area and
getting use to having an electric cord to work around takes some
practice but it's alot quiter and cleaner than the gas powered option.
My only concern is how long the plastic base will hold up. Read

too much, not too little I
bought this mower based on reviews and used it for the first time a few
days ago. In short, I am very satisfied.
Here is my experience: the mower was very easy to assemble; took
less than fifteen minutes (which includes reading the manual). No tools
required, but some ordinary pliers helped. Adjusting the blade height is
effortless.
It's true what another reviewer said: it starts easier and faster
than a car. I was off and mowing immediately. It's very lightweight and
easy to push, turn and navigate.
The manual gives a good tip: drape the power cord in a pile, and
plan your mowing to move further and further away from the pile. This
helps prevent the "power cord dance". Using a cord will change your
mowing style, but I found the adjustment easy.
I mowed tall, wet grass with no problem (maybe 4 inches tall still
moist from a morning rain).
Another review mentions a pinching hazard. I discount this because
you can only pinch yourself with your own strength; the machine cannot
pinch you.
Overall, it has limitations, but basically the same limitations
you'd expect with any lawn mower. Well worth the price. I'd buy it
again. Read More

Lawn Boy 10640 20-Inch 6.75 GT Briggs & Stratton Gas Powered Lawn Mower (Non-CARB Compliant)
Lawn Boy 10640 20-Inch 6.75 GT Briggs & Stratton Gas Powered
Lawn Mower (Non-CARB Compliant) Perfect
mid-level mower, great value Buying a
mower is tough, especially if you want a push model. Most of the
lower-end push models are just that - very low end. Sure, they will run,
but performance (i.e., even cut, good mulching, good bagging) is so-so.
And, if you can find a decent performing one, the build
quality/durability when it comes to handles, wheels, etc. is lacking.
On the opposite end of the spectrum you have high end push mowers
from Toro (their Super Recycling series) and Honda. Great mowers - built
well, perform well, will last for many years. But, the push models they
make are only available from dealers (not sold at the big-box stores)
so you're looking at some big bucks.
The Lawn Boy is a perfect compromise. No, it's not as well-built as a
mower costing twice as much, but it is much nicer than what you'd find
at a big box store. Excellent engine -- the B&S Ready Start is just
that: no priming, no choke, just pull and go. The wheel assembly is also
excellent, with the same wide, easy turn wheels found on the higher end
Lawn Boys. That is especially nice in a push mower since you're doing
all the pushing!
The bag is not as nice as the higher end Lawn Boys that have a
larger opening and a one-hand design. Still, this works well. The bag is
of decent quality, but on the small side. That's not a bad thing in a
push mower, however, since again, you're doing all the pushing!
Cut height goes up to 4 inches. Rare to see that in a mower in this
price range. The one-piece handle is sturdy, but you may want to add a
piece of foam if you're using the mower for a long period of time since
that will cut down or eliminate "numb hand" from the vibration.
Performance is great. No problems getting through tall grass -
mulched right through it with no visible clumps. I don't use the bag
attachment unless I'm picking up leaves in the fall, so I can't comment
on how well it bags yet. I'll update this in the fall after I have some
experience. I can say that this is one of the best mulching mowers I've
used. The "Consumer" magazine gives this a very high rating, and I
concur - performs like a champ.
I don't find the weight to be a problem at all. Very easy to push,
and turns (with the fat boy tires) are easy as can be. Solid
construction means you have to deal with some weight -- the deck is
solid and does not flex at all. Need thick steel (and therefore weight)
to do that. If you can't push this you should look at a self-propelled
model (or hit the gym a bit -- anyone who is in reasonable good shape
should not have a problem).
It's getting ever more hard to find a decent push mower. Seems
everyone wants a self-propelled these days. Nothing wrong with that, but
I look at lawn mowing as a form of exercise. Plus, I have several
planting beds in the lawn, and a push mower is a perfect fit for getting
around the obstacles easily. Good to see that Lawn Boy is not ignoring
this segment of the market. Highly recommend this mower if you're
looking for a push model. Read More

Lowest Price American Lawn Mower Company 1705-16 16-Inch Bent Reel Mower
Lowest Price American Lawn Mower Company 1705-16 16-Inch Bent
Reel Mower My
best 2009 investment! I
purchased this reel mower back at the beginning of May 2009 so I've been
using it for 3 months now. I have a very expensive Toro mower that
sits in my garage, not working after 2 years of use. I have no idea
what's wrong with it and I don't even care because this mower has been
GREAT! When I first used it, it was very difficult because I hadn't
mowed yet for the season and the grass was long. I had to go over it
twice and had some bad blisters and even bruises on my palm. I was
worried if it was always going to be that hard. I'm 5'2" and weigh 105
lbs but I work out every day and I'm pretty strong and it was still
really hard! But now, I mow once a week and it's perfect! I haven't
sharpened the blades since I got it but I can tell I'll need to have
them sharpened before next season but it should last through the summer.
I'm going to order the blade sharpening kit and see if I can do it
myself. It is really easy to maneuver, even going around my curved
planting beds, and I can lift the entire thing with one arm. I have a
50' x 150' yard and I mow the entire thing with it. I also have 5 big
trees (4 of them maples) and the tree roots are horrendous but the reel
mower has been handling the bumps really well. Sometimes I have to get
creative and go three different directions to get all the grass around a
large surfaced root but it works! And with the trees, I get a lot of
sticks but I just spend an 5 extra minutes picking up the biggest
branches and I don't really have a problem. If it hits a stick and it
gets stuck in the reel, I have this way of spinning the reel backwards
with my foot to release the stick without barely missing a step while
mowing. In the front yard, I do go over each pass a second time but
that is just because I am really particular about it. In the back yard I
don't care as much and it still looks fine. It has even been really
good at cutting the dandelions although I only have a few. I can't get
really close to the telephone poles or my trees but I just grab some
grass scissors and take care of it. I really like cutting my lawn now!
It is so relaxing! The mower is so quiet that my 4 dogs walk right up
it while I'm mowing and the 13 yr old sheltie doesn't even wake from her
nap when I'm a row away from her. The quality is great, too. Very
sturdy! One of my handles came bent so I called customer service who
quickly took my name and address and sent me out a new handle. They
didn't even ask for a receipt or anything! I was afraid it was going to
be a hassle but that was great service! Last weekend I listened to my
neighbor trying to start her mower for a couple hours. The next day,
she still hadn't gotten it started. I am so glad I don't have to deal
with that any more! I would recommend this mower to anyone! Read

Earthwise 60020 20-Inch 24 Volt Cordless Electric 3-in-1 Lawn Mower With Grass Bag
Shop For Earthwise 60020 20-Inch 24 Volt Cordless Electric
3-in-1 Lawn Mower With Grass Bag RDU I am
well pleased with this mower and highly recommend it. Before purchasing
this mower I compared reviews for the leading cordless mowers and
settled on this one due to its heavier construction. I was not
disappointed. This mower is very sturdy which also means it is
approximately the same weight as our prvious gas powered mower but the
trade off is worth it in my opinion. It is sturdy, rugged, balanced and
easy to handle. Previous reviewers stated it was louder than some
electrics but again this has been a good trade off. The power is
plentiful and it is much quieter than a similarly sized gas mower and no
one hears it unless they are outside and near to the area being cut.
For a time I had a concern about the run time (I never seemed to have a
problem but my son could never finish both front and back yards on a
single charge) until I discovered my 15 year old son used mowing time to
continuing his texting with friends and tended to stop pushing often
while continuing to run the mowers motor, once this obstacle was
overcome the run time dramatically improved. One caveat about this
mower (or any cordless), you have to prepare prior to mowing by making
sure you've charged it. You must make sure you've charged the mower
within a reasonable time before mowing for maximum run time. This may
sound like a no-brainer but it takes a while to get over the old habits
of the gas powered mower. Oh yes, it starts right up everytime,
something the old mower seldom did. Read More
